Trusting & Growing, Again!

Feeling crumby is no fun. Knowing there is so much to do doesn’t help me rest, but then knowing rest is what I need keeps me from settling down to work.

So, what do you do when you don’t feel like doing anything but you know you need to but you also know you need rest? God is the only one who really knows what you need to do. Go to Him and He will lead you to the things you should accomplish today.

Somehow, and I really don’t know how this works, stepping out in faith and trusting God to help you do that thing you need to do can bring to the forefront everything you need to accomplish that task. Energy, when you feel like just crawling into bed and pulling the covers over your head. Inspiration, when you have trouble even remembering everyday things like turning off lights. Encouragement, because, “Of course, He will give you exactly what you need, when you need it!”

Starting the day with God is important too. Why? Well, it is too easy to let things crowd into your life and crowd out God’s voice. In fact I find that very often my day starts with an urgent need to do something when what I should do is immediately give myself and the day to the Lord. I am convinced that Satan uses his forces to sidetrack us even before we put our feet on the floor in the morning. But if we can realize we are off track, turn back to God as soon as we realize it, then our day will be used for God’s purpose.

Feelings often get us off track. Joyce Meyer says, "Don’t trust your feelings. Don’t go by how you feel." So, here I sit, at this keyboard trying to make sense of the day and get something accomplished for my Lord. No, the day isn’t a total waste. Even if I didn’t follow His voice here to the computer I know He would use the time to bring me closer to Him. Growth isn’t always easy but it is good.

So, now I head to the other room to rest so my body can repair itself. I will pull the covers up and I will ask God to lead every thought even in sleep so that I will continue to grow in Him and somehow bring Him glory. That is what this life is all about, isn’t it?

God bless!!

Thoughts

What is the first thing you think of in the morning when you wake up?

Have you changed from the person you were? Who are you?

Have you changed since; you got married, had children, started working, found the Lord, stopped going to church, went through menopause, got out of school, found your purpose, ??????

Do you want to recover that old self that was content, satisfied, calm, healthy, worshipful, in love with the Lord???

These are some of the thoughts that have run through my mind lately. I am on a definit journey to be closer to the Lord. Where He will take me is yet to be revealed but I am excited to find out.

Where are you on your spiritual walk? Care to share with me?

I pray you are finding His presence daily with you. God bless!

It’s Simple, Really!

If you want or need change in your life,
If you want your life to have meaning,
If you want to hear God’s voice,
If you want; discernment, wisdom,
understanding, knowledge and
all the other things that come with a spirit filled life.

You must give yourself to God daily.
First thing in the morning,
when you first wake up, ask God
to forgive your sins and cleanse
you then give yourself to Him, all of yourself.
Desire it deeply, yearn for it,
then ask God to live in you,
ask Him to fill your heart, soul, mind
and spirit so that He will receive the glory
and so that you may be used as His instrument on this day.

It’s that simple. Desire Him. Come to Him with pure motives and a heart that hungers for Him. And you will find a contentment and joy in life like you have never known before. Talk to God throughout the day. He’s there with you. You will be able to feel it. Expect wonderful things to happen in your life, doors will open and you will feel a sense of direction and focus. Life will take on meaning and have a wonderful sense of fulfillment. It will also bring peace and blessing to you and your home.

When you have made the choice to give yourself wholly to God, pray for each
of your family members, that they also would find this simple solution.

Praising our Father for His wonderful presence, I pray that you will find a
full and blessed life in Him.

Loss & Wake Up Call

Today I am grieving. I feel a deep and profound loss.

Lisa; 41, wife, mother, daughter, friend has gone home. How immense is the void left by her sweet presence. There will be no more hugs in church hallways, no more sweet smiles from across the room, no more discussions about flowers and living green. I know that the loss we feel will wane with time. It will even be filled if we allow God to fill it. Life will go on, but those of us who knew her will never forget. Today, we say goodbye.

How often do we, as we grieve, wish we had said more or done more. And why don’t we, after realizing how much more we could have done or said, put those lessons to work in our daily lives with our family and friends? Each time I work at letting my loved ones know I love them, each time I try to think of little ways to make their day sweet, and each time I fall back into this habit of taking them for granted.

I hope this time will be different. I hope that I will in some way be able to find something in each day to celebrate. I hope that I won’t wait to deepen friendships and that I will take every opportunity God gives me to reach out.

Resting on His promise that He will never leave or forsake us, I humbly entreat you to share His love while you can.
